Maybe ya Thinkin Too Hard

This is my first official/ unofficial post. I know that doesn’t make sense, but that is how I feel about it. Just call this inspired writing. It is certainly spontaneous, because I didn’t wake this morning planning to write this. I must say, that I have had several ideas running in and out of my mind in the last several days that I think were certainly Simplefolk.net worthy.

I watched a video about 3 weeks ago that completely “upgraded” my view of God and the Bible. By the way, I usually refer to the Bible, as the Word. I just want you to know what I’m talking about the next time use that term. Anyway, this video was of an astronomer, who claimed that he can scientifically prove God. His theories were not necessarily traditional I.D. (Intelligent Design) theories, but it was intelligent design none less. He said that space itself proves the existence of God, and most astronomers know this. Even, Albert Einstein, though not typically referred to as an astronomer, knew the implications of outer space’s existence.

Before I go any farther, I must acknowledge that the “Word” totally supports this theory. Check out these two scriptures from the Message and Amplified Bible, you can check the King James or NIV later if you’d like.

Roman 1:21-22 (MSG) But the basic reality of God is plain enough. Open your eyes and there it is! By taking a long and thoughtful look at what God has created, people have always been able to see what their eyes as such can’t see: eternal power, for instance, and the mystery of his divine being. So nobody has a good excuse.

Psalms 19:1 (Amp) THE HEAVENS declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows and proclaims His handiwork.

It’s also important to note that this astronomer became a Christian only after he found that the Bible of the only ancient book, religious or otherwise that accurately predicted his findings. I could not give you even a fraction of what he taught in this video, although I will tell you how to find it before I close.

This guy gave a scientific explanation for some of Christianity’s most difficult facts. Stuff like, “How can God be one expressed in three?” or “How can God hear everyone prayers at once?” If I were to sum up all his detailed explanations it would be best summarized by saying, “God’s intellect and nature is so far beyond ours, that it is ridiculous for us to question things that we don’t understand, especially when we consider that even a finite man such as the astronomer on this video can possess knowledge that we haven’t even dreamed or imagined”.

The concept of God in and of itself implies that there is a being that far exceeds our abilities and intellect. Therefore, it is a literally an INSANE notion to later conclude that there is no God because there are things about Him or things that He does that we do not understand.

It really takes more faith to believe that God doesn’t exist. That conclusion even defies scientific reasoning more than the concept of God. No God, would mean that the universe, star, galaxies, gravity, solar system, ecosystem, cellular design, human behavior, genetic coding, procreation, and every other highly structured bit of existence is merely coincidence. The odds of just one of those points happening to the level of complexity that it has is astronomical. Actually, in science, it would be considered impossible if the alternative conclusion did not point to God.

Once you realize through observation of creation that God is preached just as clearly through the existence as in the Bible. You are one step closer to realizing that history preaches Jesus just as clearly as the Bible, but that is another subject for another day. Until that day keep it simple, and don’t forget to simplify through SimpleFolk.Net.

If you would like to see the video mentioned in this blog, you can find it through www.johnankerberg.com. The name of the video is What Scientific Evidence Proves God Created and Designed the Universe? The name of the astronomer is Dr. Hugh Ross.
