Out of House and Home

Have you ever had to cuss someone out? I mean, you didn’t want to, but the person left you no other choice. Consequently, you just had to let them know what was on your mind. I’m not saying it was the right thing to do, but it was just something that you had to do.  After all, he or she was tripping, and there was nothing else that could be done. Well, at least that is how we felt at the time. You felt like that person needed to be cussed out, or should I say “cursed out” as it is properly pronounced.

As strongly as you may have felt in that situation, I doubt that you legitimately “had to” curse anyone out.  You may have gotten pushed further than you were comfortable with, so you decided to curse them out, but it was still your choice. You see, I’ve learned that there is never a reason for people to be cursed, yet people get cursed and are cursed everyday.  I’m no longer simply talking about the curses that come from one person’s mouth to another’s ears, but I’m also referring to the curses that people experience when they refuse the terms of God’s blessings. Those curses are not necessary either, and could be avoided by simply making a choice, the right choice.

Most people will look at you like you are crazy if you walked around talking about curses. Curses are not   really a topic of everyday conversation, especially not here in America. However, people all over this wonderful and blessed country have curses working in their lives, and don’t even realize it. How ironic is that?  Since people don’t generally discuss curses, most people do not know how to recognize them, but I’m here to save the day. A curse can be described as an unfavorable spiritual force that brings about misfortune and trouble.

Curses can be seen any where blessings cannot. When blessings can’t be found, it’s because dishonor, disobedience, and rebellion to God can be found. Those are curses favorite places to party, so just know that if you want to hang out in those types of places, you shouldn’t be surprised when curses show up. Now, I’m not one to gossip, but rolling with curses is a good way to get kicked out of the club, and by club I mean Club Godswillfoyalife.

Check out what happened with Adam and Eve, the first two people that learned about curses…the hard way. They tried hanging out in disobedience, dishonor, and rebellion too, and sure enough curses showed up. Read here in Genesis about how they were kicked out the club. You know the club, Club Godswillfoyalife.

Here was GOD’S WILL for their life: (Genesis 2:15-17) Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; “but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”  (NKJV)

Here is THEIR DECISION to choose disobedience: (Genesis 3:6) So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.  (NKJV)

Here are CURSES SHOWING UP like they always do when we hang out in disobedience: (Genesis 3:23-24) therefore the LORD God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the Garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.  (NKJV)

You see Adam and Eve were the first to people to be “cussed out”, but it didn’t have to happen that way. They had a choice, and so do we. Adam and Eve were born into God’s will for their life, and then later they were cussed out because of their sin and disobedience. Today, we are born outside of God’s will for our life, but we only remain there because of sin and disobedience. We have a choice too.

We can choose to obey God, by believing and therefore following the leadership of Jesus Christ as Lord. (Romans 5:1-21, Galatians 3:13-14). If we do that then we’ll be “blessed-in” instead of being “cussed out” of God’s will for our life. The ball is in our court. You tell me; wouldn’t you like to experience the “Bless- IN”? Don’t you hate being “Cussed OUT”? I know that I did, so I made my choice. Now, you must make yours!
